Committees

To promote development of officers and inspire esprit de corps through various topic discussions and presentations that encourage mutual learning and shared practices.

The mission of the Publications Committee is to publish, and assist in publishing, articles in the COA Frontline and on the COA Aurora Borealis (AB) Branch website. Duties also include disseminating COA Frontline via the COA AB listserv & highlighting branch officers when an article is published, communicating & working closely with branch leadership to ensure that all activities with which COA AB Branch is involved are appropriate for publication are submitted, and reviewing the Publications section of the SOP annually.

Membership Committee Lead – CDR Thompson manages the branch listserv and is responsible for branch membership activities such as helping officers resolve issues regarding their membership, update their email or information, and encouraging officers to maintain membership. She works with the National COA Membership and Development Coordinator monthly with getting the most updated branch membership roster for COA Meetings.

Maintains and develops the branch website, keeping event calendars, member resources, and the document library current, so officers always have one reliable place to find branch information.

Social Events Committee positively supports and inspires esprit de corps of the COA Aurora Borealis Branch through planning officer social events.

Works to advocate for legislative improvements for Commissioned Corps officers and retirees at the local, state, and national level.
